About the program
Most kids love furry creatures, and there is nothing cuter than a kid cuddled up with their pet for an afternoon nap. But that seemingly friendly kitty or lovable hush puppy may not return the feeling.
Each year, millions of people are bitten by dogs—80% of them by canines they know and interact with regularly—and it's estimated that more than half of those victims are under the age of 13. What's more, children are at least three times more likely than adults to sustain a serious dog-bite.
Teaching your kids to be safe around animals can be lifesaving.
If you have a pet, or are thinking of bringing one into your home, it's important that your kids know how to be safe when they’re around them. Whether its an indoor or outdoor animal, the family pet or stray dog, or even the interesting animals in the petting zoo, it is vital your kids know how to act safely around them.
This means different things depending on the animal and the situation.
In this NEW 2 hour program, students learn:
