Help your child stay safe around strangers
Stranger Smarts is a dynamic, non-threatening two hour workshop that captures the attention of students and allows them to learn how to make safe choices when approached by strangers.
It helps to reduce fear and anxiety by providing children with skills and knowledge they need by teaching them to make safe choices, and giving them the confidence and skills to react safely to these frightening experiences.
As a response to the high demand to bring this valuable program to our community based programs, we have reformatted and added INTERACTIVE COMPONTENTS to reach groups of children, ages 7 – 10 years old.
Children learn skills to help them understand:
- Tricks predators will use to gain their trust
- How to recognize and protect their personal safety zone
- Listen to their personal alarm
- To focus on safe situations rather than places
- The golden rule NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITH ANYONE WITHOUT ASKING FIRST
Parents are asked to return to class for the final half hour. Here is where the students will show their parents what valuable skills they have learned!
We believe that with parent input and partnership, the lessons will continue to be reinforced at home.
